Our engineers have updated the Digital Fleet Bridge Service used to pass information between your dispatch system and Digital Fleet. We have started to roll this new version out to customers and will be reaching out to you soon. The upgrade process is quick as we'll just need access to the server the messaging queues reside on and a few minutes to perform the install/verification.
Here is some information on what is included in this new version and why it was built.
The new Bridge Service gives us more incite into the health of the dispatch communication path and allows for automatic updates of the Bridge Service. This will help us identify issues quicker and notify you if any corrective actions are needed. It will also allow us to more easily patch any updates without needing access to the server.
Below is a snapshot of what we monitor with the new Bridge Service. The Bridge Queue Counts are important to see if the messaging queues are being backed up for the "to dispatch" or "from dispatch" queues identifying an issue with the Digital Fleet service or dispatch service. Additionally, the Outgoing/Incoming Dispatch Data Times/Data Counts helps us identify if the Digital Fleet Bridge Service has stopped communicating with the Digital Fleet server or we've gone extended periods without receiving any communication from the dispatch service. The last item is the server disk space to see if the logs or another item is taking up excessive disk space on the server that could impact performance.
