User Emulation

Overview

If you are a Client Administrator, you can choose to emulate any active user within your account.  This means that you will see things the way the end user does when you are emulating them.  This can help with troubleshooting end user issues, such as which features are available for them, what assets they can see, etc.  

Web user functionality

The Client Administration right is required in order to emulate another user.

To emulate a user, click the “User Profile” icon in the top right corner of the page.  An Emulate User  selection box will be available to select a user to emulate.  Once selecting a particular user the page will reload and you will now be emulating the selected user.

The user you are logged in as, will be displayed next to the "User Profile" icon.

In order to stop emulating a user and return to your profile, click the "User Profile" icon and select Myself. 

When emulating a user, the recorded modifications/tracking are recorded as being modified by the Client Admin, not the user being emulated.

For Tags, the Client Admin can select them and filter their view, but any changes to them will only affect the Client Admin's view, not the emulated users view.  If you are emulating a user, you will not see their tag selection.
