Functionality
External Users enables clients to allow access to their Digital Fleet webapp account to users associated with a different Digital Fleet webapp account. This can be useful for clients that have multiple Digital Fleet webapp accounts and would like to share access across them.
Prerequisites
- The user accepting the invitation must have a Digital Fleet account.
- The user enabling the External User access, must be a Client Admin.
Configuration
- Settings --> Profile Management --> External Users
- Select +Add User in the top right corner of the Profile Management page.
- You will be prompted with the Invite User modal and asked to enter an email address.
- The email address does not have to be an email address associated with a Digital Fleet account, but the Invitee must have an account with Digital Fleet.
- Select "Send Invite" and the user will receive an email invite with a link.
- The link will expire in 24 hours.
- The Invitee (External User) must be logged into their current Digital Fleet webapp account before clicking the link.
- After clicking the link, they will be prompted to Accept the invite.
- Once they accept the invite, they will be able to use the "Switch Client" feature, available in their Profile icon, to switch between the Digital Fleet webapp clients.
- Once a user accepts, the Client Admin will need to add a Role or Roles to the External User.
- Roles can be added to an External User by accessing the External Users page in Profile Management.
- Use the Controls wrench to configure the Role/Roles for the External User.
- Any available Roles can be assigned. No other user details will be available to view.
- External Users cannot invite other users, even if they are granted Client Amin privileges.
