If you are using Command Batch, you can automate the begin load and end load statuses in Digital Fleet. This document shows you how to set up Command Batch to communicate to Digital Fleet
- Ensure that the system time on your COMMANDBatch machine is correct, and setup to sync with a time server. Incorrect times on the COMMANDBatch machine could result in incorrect event times in Digital Fleet, and can sometimes cause events not to be processed.
- Contact Digital Fleet for an external_id for your batch panel. You will need to include the external_id in the VSC format strings below. Digital Fleet can provide you with your four-character external_id.
- In COMMANDbatch, open the “Interface Parameters” form (in the “All Forms” menu), and add two interfaces with the following settings:
- Type: VSC Interfacecc
- Connection: Ethernet UDP
- Control Node/Control Sys: (as appropriate for your site)
- In Use: checked
- Common | Trace Type: None
- TCP/IP | IP Address: 52.21.0.216
- TCP/IP | IP Port: 2105
- Format: There are two formats to use, one for each interface. For each, replace the “XXXX”s with the four-character external_id provided by Digital Fleet, preserving the single quotes between characters. (Note that the two formats are identical except for the L3/L7 suffixes)
- 'D'V'0'4'X'X'X'X'Ebnnnnnnnnccccccccccssssutttmwwwvqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq<CR>-L3
- 'D'V'0'4'X'X'X'X'Ebnnnnnnnnccccccccccssssutttmwwwvqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq<CR>-L7
-
- Note: If you would like to use load events other than 3 and 7 for begin and end load, contact Digital Fleet support.
- Still in COMMANDbatch, open the “Dispatch and External Interface Setup” form. For each of the two VSC interfaces you defined, add an entry here with the following settings:
- Create a new entry by clicking on an empty row in the Code/Type table on the left
- All Company/All Location/All Plant: checked
- Code: VSC Interface
- Interface Parameter: pick the interfaces defined earlier
- Activated: (pick the current date/time)
- Enabled: checked
- For more info on the COMMANDbatch steps, see the “VSC Truck Signaling Interface” document from COMMAND.
- Note that the firewall configuration on both the local COMMANDbatch host and also on the local network need to be configured to allow outgoing UDP traffic to IP 52.21.0.216, port 2105. It is common for this to be restricted. Contact your IT team for help with this task.
