General Functionality
NOTE: For the complete Fleet Questions user experience, tablets must be using DigiTrack version 9.12.0+. Fleet Questions will be a replacement for Surveys.
Fleet Questions allows users to create and send custom questions to one, all, or a specific group of drivers. Questions can be instantly sent to a group of trucks, or triggered dynamically when a truck encounters specific ticket events within the status loop.
Questions can be configured with various answer types, including multiple choice, single select, multi select, or freeform text. The answers submitted by drivers are available to view, sort, filter and export from the Questions feature page.
For trucks enabled for E-Ticketing, a Questions section will be displayed on the ticket details page.
Question Types
Survey
Creating and/or activating a Survey Question will send the question in real-time to drivers with a duration of time they can respond. For example, a dispatcher sends a question to all in-service drivers asking if they would prefer to stay or go home.
- When creating new Survey Question, the question will be sent to drivers immediately upon saving if the Status is set to Active. To avoid sending immediately, make sure the Status is set to Inactive before saving.
- Inactive Survey Questions can be reused to avoid recreating questions that are repeatedly asked to the fleet. To reuse an existing survey question, click on the control wrench and then Activate.
- Survey Questions and their answer are not associated to a ticket
Ticket Event
Triggering a question from a Ticket Event(s) will send the question to a driver as those events are encountered during the status loop. For example, when a Stop Pour ticket event occurs, ask the driver how many washout bags they used at the job.
- Once a Ticket Event question is active, it will be sent to any trucks meeting the configuration criteria as the specified Ticket Events occur.
- Ticket Event questions and answers are associated to the truck's active ticket.
- While multiple ticket events can be used to trigger a Question, the question will only be asked once per ticket.
- For trucks enabled for E-Ticketing, a Questions section will be available on the ticket details page and external ticket documents, displaying the question and answer data.
Questions Page Options
New questions can be created by clicking on the Create Question icon in the top right control bar.
Once questions are created, the following options are available via the control wrench. Note that the available options will vary depending on question type and whether the question is active or inactive.
- Edit, Delete, and Copy
- Activate
- Survey questions will be immediately sent to trucks meeting the configuration criteria
- Ticket Event questions will be sent to trucks meeting the configuration criteria as the specified ticket events occur.
- Deactivate
- Survey questions will no longer accept answers once deactivated.
- Ticket Event question will no longer trigger when deactivated.
- Resend
- Only available for active survey questions.
- Used to resend the question to non-respondents of the active survey.
Answer Page Options
Clicking on the eye ball icon on the question page will open the answer page.
From the answer page, users are presented with an itemized list of drivers/trucks that the question was sent to, the date/time the question was asked, and the answer provided by the drivers. Users are able to interact with this data by selecting a specific date (or date range) and using the column headers to sort and filter their view. The contents of the page can then be exported to a spreadsheet using the Export icon in the top right control bar.
Fleet Questions on DigiTrack
Drivers have the ability to view questions and edit answers directly from their tablet. A listing of all recently asked questions is available by accessing the Main Menu and selecting the Questions icon. Both survey and ticket event questions will be listed, but only active questions will be eligible for edit.
Drivers can also quickly access ticket event questions and answers directly from the ticket history section of their tablet.
